PGSA – YOU ARE ITS FOUNDATION

PGSA is a 100% volunteer, member-supported organization.        No paid staff.        No endowment.        No government support.

Every dollar received goes toward fulfilling its mission to provide the best services, programs and information possible to assist individuals and professionals conducting research in Polish genealogy. Every hour provided by a volunteer is an hour less in fees paid to a professional – thus, an hour more of funds applied toward fulfilling this mission.

Your skills, time and generosity form the foundation on which the PGSA is built and maintained.

VOLUNTEER

From its inception, your all-volunteer organization is totally reliant on those who donate their skills.
This can be a specific role performed only once or twice per year. It can be the significant commitment of board members.
Small or large, every act of every volunteer is important and valuable. Over time, as generations change, new people with new ideas and skills are needed. Possibly you!

The Society wants to make your experience as a volunteer mutually beneficial by matching your interests and time availability with our needs. Within this context, there are ample opportunities to assist PGSA. With modern technology, many roles can be performed at a distance. Skills we are seeking include:
– Webinars, Websites, Data entry and indexing
– Social Media, Facebook, Instagram, Mail Chimp
– Graphic Design, Video creation and editing, Photography
– Research Support answering genealogical questions
– Writing, Proofreading, Editing
– Special Events, Conferences
– Language translation

Donor support is essential. Membership dues and miscellaneous income typically cover the cost to publish your journal, Rodziny, plus other annual operating costs. However, adding services, enhancing online data, engaging quality speakers and expanding educational resources require additional funding.
